Dr Sameer Arbat completed his MBBS and MD in Respiratory Medicine from JNMC, Sawangi, Wardha. He gained vast experience in all sub-specialties by working as Senior Registrar at KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He then joined Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai where he performed more than 100 Bronchoscopies. He was invited to work at Thoracic Endoscopy Unit of the AziendaOspedaliRiuniti, Ancona, Italy under the guidance of his mentor, DrStefannoGasparini who is the world authority in Interventional Pulmonology. He gained further experience as a Visiting Traineeat Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi under Dr Rajiv Goyal. He is the first and only pulmonologist to have the EBUS- Endo Bronchial Ultra Sound Unit and Cryotherapy Unit in Central India. EBUS is useful for definitive diagnosis of mediastinal lymph node malignancy. Dr Sameer has performed more than 500 bronchoscopies and more than 50 cryotherapy procedures till date (January 2018) including endobronchialtumourdebulking.
Dr Sameer has more than 10international publications and oral presentations to his name.He hasreceived2 National Awards at BRONCOCON 2015 and NAPCON 2016. His study on Interstitial Lung Diseaseat KEM was presented at the prestigious ERS Congress in London 2016. He has been the Organizing Secretary to many National Conferences. He is credited with running a specialised Asthma-COPD and ILD Education Program at KRIMS Hospitals with more than 1600 patients enrolled.Dr Sameer is a regular speaker on All India Radio and has many news paper articles published to his name.
Dr Sameer is Consulting at KRIMS Hospitals and his OPD timings are 10am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday.
